During the Congress of Notaries of France held from October 12 to 14 in Marseille, the Montpellier-based group Septeo, which specializes in the digitalization of legal and real estate professions, introduced an innovative approach to integrate the seemingly traditional notaries into the "metaverse". This initiative primarily targets the gaming community holding crypto assets. Septeo Solutions Notaires, a subsidiary of Septeo, has been experimenting with virtual 3D spaces in the metaverse for notaries to conduct meetings, conferences, and one-on-one appointments.
The two worlds of notaries and the metaverse might seem distant, but Septeo aims to bridge this gap. They introduced their first metaverse projects during the Congress of Notaries in Marseille. The main objective was to educate the younger online gaming community, who currently hold crypto assets, about the transfer of these assets to their loved ones in case of unforeseen circumstances. The Sandbox, a renowned French platform for metaverse gamers, was chosen for this initiative. Septeo created a virtual Septeo Solutions Notaires building in The Sandbox, where players could embark on a quest for NFTs (cryptographic tokens stored on a blockchain) and interact with Septeo operators to discuss asset transfer.
Moreover, Septeo expanded its reach by collaborating with Spatial, a metaverse specialist for professional spaces, to create a 3D e-workroom. This room serves as a platform for notaries to offer advice and guidance to crypto asset holders. The experience is more immersive than standard video conferencing, allowing one-on-one consultations. Many notaries have shown interest, seeing the potential benefits for their future business.
In addition to these initiatives, Septeo is considering other uses of the metaverse, such as e-learning for training. They plan to launch a fully operational service in 2023, including an e-building accessible to everyone, both gamers and notaries, via The Sandbox.
