Introduction

Engagement payouts proportionally distribute 40% of the net revenue from Fortnite’s Item Shop and most real-money Fortnite purchases to all island publishers on a monthly basis. Engagement payouts will reward creation of islands that players "enjoy" and based on engagement metrics that contribute to the health of the overall Fortnite ecosystem.

Payouts engagement metrics

The metrics fall into three groups:

1. Player Popularity : Islands that attract new players and re-engage lapsed players signal an experience that Fortnite players love.

2. Retention : Islands with high levels of returning players day-to-day and week-to-week indicate compelling gameplay.

3. V-Bucks Spent : When individual players spend V-Bucks in Fortnite the full week before or the full week after engaging with an island.

Engagement revenue data are displayed on the Payout tab of your creator dashboard where you track your earnings.

Note

Epic Games expects the tracking metrics will change based on creator and player feedback.
